The Bible Course
From Genesis to Revelation
See the big picture of the Bible.
The Bible is a BIG book — a library of 66 books, written across many centuries, with many different people, places and stories. But how does it all fit together?
This fall, Graceview is offering The Bible Course, in collaboration with the Canadian Bible Society. Over eight sessions, we will explore the big picture of the Bible storyline — from Genesis to Revelation — and discover how the many books, stories and events fit together as one story centred on God and his amazing grace.
Along the way, you will pick up practical tools and skills to help you read the Bible for yourself and apply it to your life.
What can you expect?
Each session includes:
- Video teaching to introduce the big picture
- Bible readings to explore key passages
- Discussion and conversation with others
- Personal reflection and application
You don’t need to be a Bible expert. Whether you have been reading the Bible for years or are simply curious to understand it better, you are welcome to join us.
Two Questions to Keep in Mind
A simple approach throughout the course is to ask:
WHAT?
What did this passage mean in its original context?
NOW WHAT?
What does this passage mean for my life today?
These two questions help us move from simply knowing what the Bible says to considering how God’s Word speaks into our lives.
The Eight Sessions
| Session | Theme |
|---|---|
| 1 | Introducing the Bible |
| 2 | Creation & Covenant |
| 3 | Exodus & Promised Land |
| 4 | Judges & Kings |
| 5 | Exile & Prophets |
| 6 | Jesus & the Gospels |
| 7 | Acts & the Church |
| 8 | Revelation & Review |
By the end of the course, our hope is that you will have a clearer understanding of the Bible’s big picture and greater confidence to pick up the Bible, read it for yourself, and apply it to your life.
