Sermon Synopsis – February 4th 2024 1 King 19:1-18
What are you doing here, Elijah? It was a good ques-on the LORD asked Elijah. In the Bible text we see that he doesn’t answer the ques-on, but speaks about his zeal, the sinfulness of Israel and how he alone is faithful! We note that God doesn’t empathize with him, but asks Elijah to go and stand before Him. Sometimes, we don’t know what we’re doing here – in Church, in this job, in this relationship. We need to hear God ask us what we are doing in order to take a look at the situation. We need to stand before God and be reminded that it’s not about us, but about God’s will and purpose accomplished through us for God’s glory.
