Nov. 19, 2025
The fall bible study came to an end yesterday. We were privileged to watch 8 episodes of season 5 of the Chosen. It depicted the time from the entry into Jerusalem up until Jesus’s arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane. I cannot stress enough how much of an impact this series has had on me and on others who have attended. Not only has it piqued my curiosity into what more the Bible has to offer me, but it has seamlessly woven the words and stories from the Bible with fictional backstories that tie the whole thing together wonderfully. There are characters in the series who do not appear in the Bible, but they could have. It all comes together with a deeper understanding of what COULD have led to Jesus’s ultimate crucifixion. It makes sense. The acting is superb, and each episode has left me wanting more. The writers and direction of this whole series are without a doubt impeccably brilliant, and I sit here awaiting the next 2 seasons with great anticipation. If you have not seen these, I cannot urge you strongly enough to give it a go. The app is free to download, or, I think, you can see it on Prime. You will not be disappointed.

NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Deck the Halls
Friday, November 28, 2025, 6:30 PM
Come and help us prepare the church for Advent and Christmas. This is always lots of fun and a great way to welcome the Christmas season. Decorating will be followed by a short Carol Sing, and goodies in the Adamson Lounge. All are Welcome!
Nativity Display
There is a Nativity display in Walkerton from November 20 – 30. It is a very interesting display with over 3,000 nativity scenes. Some of these are from other countries and others are just unique. Just Google “Nativity in Walkerton” for more details. (Thanks to Nancy Green for bringing this to our attention)
Advent Lunches (Changes to the original plan)
After a very productive Music & Worship meeting last week, it was decided to pare back the number of Advent Lunches that were originally planned. Attendance has traditionally been sparse to these, so it was decided to have one event only. On December 16 at 12:00 PM we will be offering a pizza lunch followed by the viewing of “Christmas with The Chosen – O Holy Night”, which was produced by the same people who have brought us The Chosen series. Please come out and join us for pizza and a movie and maybe some carol singing at the end. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the entryway of the church. We would love to see many of you come out for this event.
Men Aloud
Kento and the Men Aloud Male Chorus will be presenting their Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 9th at 7 PM at Richview Untied Church. What a great way to start off the Christmas season!
What is Your Favourite Christmas Carol?
You will all find an insert in the Sunday bulletin. We are asking for your feedback on what Christmas Carols you would like to be sung during Advent and Christmas. Simply fill out the form and leave it in the collection plate or return it to Eric or Susan or Kathy. We have heard loud and clear that you all want to sing more of these wonderful carols, so fill out the form and rest assured that we will try to sing as many of them as time will allow.
Elaine’s Craft Club Luncheon
If you are interested in coming to the Christmas Luncheon, please sign up on the bulletin board in the entryway of the church. It will be held on Tuesday, December 9th. If you do not drive, transportation can be arranged.
