As we approach our country’s special day, I would just like to express my love for this great country in which
we live. After graduation from McGill, I had the opportunity to camp across this vast land. My friend and I
started in Montreal, and we travelled all the way to Victoria, BC. Having never camped before, it was quite a
learning curve, but by the end, I was a pro at setting up the tent, cooking on a Coleman stove and best of all,
making pie iron sandwiches over a blazing campfire. It was quite literally seven and a half weeks of the best
vacation I have ever had. Every time we came upon a scenic walk, we would stop and take in the walk. No
wonder it took us so long to get to the west coast. It is hard to describe the feeling of walking through a forest
(being always on the lookout for bears) when all of a sudden we come to a clearing and see a lake nestled in
the clearing. The water being clear blue and still which reflected the surrounding trees and mountains. If one
can say that they truly felt the presence of God, this was the place, the time and yes I did feel God all around
me. To this day, when I think back to that walk to Kinney Lake, a quietness overcomes me, and I can literally
picture the beauty of this setting and the shear awe for all that the Lord has made.

Job 37:14-16

Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God’s wonders.

Do you know how God controls the clouds and makes his lightning flash?
Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonder of him who has perfect knowledge?

Psalm 95:4-5

In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.

The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

A Summer Devotional Update (June 16):

new edition of These Days (July/August/September), as well as the current edition of Our Daily Bread (June/July/August) are available on the table in the church vestibule and in the devotional box on the church porch.

Common Scents

Please be advised that our church has a scent-free protocol. It seems that some of our dear parishioners feel unwell due to heavy floral smells. Please be considerate of those in our congregation who are affected by strong smells and odors and refrain from perfumes or colognes when coming to worship on Sunday mornings. Thank you one and all.

Lemonade for Fellowship Time

Effective June 14 we will be serving lemonade at the Fellowship time after worship. If you are so inclined to donate a box or 2 of cookies to help cover the summer months, it would be very much appreciated. Please give your donations to Kathy or Susan so that we can store them safely during the summer months. Many thanks to those who have already donated.
