Good Friday is a solemn day of reflection, centering on the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ, whose
suffering on the cross is seen as a victory over sin rather than a defeat. It is a time for believers to
confront the weight of human injustice, pain, and mortality while acknowledging God’s voluntary
solidarity with suffering.
A Message of Love and Sacrifice: The cross is recognized as the ultimate expression of love,
where Jesus, took on the suffering and sins of humanity. It represents a “hard reboot” for the soul,
urging believers to embrace silence and reflection.
Solidarity in Suffering: Jesus’s passion shows that God is not distant from human anguish
but is present within our pain and despair, as highlighted in reflections from Franciscan Media.
The Transformation of the Cross: A central theme is the transformation of a symbol of
shame and defeat into a symbol of divine victory. It is a day of repentance and gratitude,
recognizing the costly price of redemption.
A Call to Carry Our Own Cross: The day calls on believers to “carry our cross” and follow
Jesus, recognizing that life and hope emerge from the suffering. Ultimately, Good Friday is not
a day for hopelessness, but a moment to trust in God’s plan, acknowledging that even in the
profound darkness of this day, the light of Easter is coming.
You are all welcome to attend this Friday’s Good Friday service at 10:30. Communion will be offered
by intinction. All are welcome to come and eat and drink of the body of Christ in remembrance of how
He died to cleanse us all from sin.

Common Scents
Please be advised that our church has a scent-free protocol. It seems that some of our dear parishioners feel unwell due to heavy floral smells. Please be considerate of those in our congregation who are affected by strong smells and odors and refrain from perfumes or colognes when coming to worship on Sunday mornings.
Thank you one and all.
Soup By Dave Luncheon
Outreach is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the 5 th “Soup by Dave” Luncheon on Tuesday, April 14 th at 11:30 AM in the downstairs hall. Chef Dave Taylor will be preparing beef and barley soup. Given Dave’s track record, the demonstration will be entertaining, and the soup will be delicious. Every guest will receive a copy of his recipe. We are glad that Chef Dave will once again generously share his culinary expertise with us in an engaging presentation. There will be a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the front foyer. Please plan to attend and invite your friends to join you. Free-will offerings will be gratefully received.
Coffee Sign-Up
It is that time of year again when we are looking for volunteers to serve coffee and tea after worship. The sign up sheet is on the bulletin board in the Adamson Lounge.
