As I embark on a short sojourn in Prince Edward County, I want to wish all of you a blessed
August. We have been gifted with excellent weather recently and I look forward to just
relaxing lakeside with nothing to do but sip wine, read a book, or just nap. Sometimes one
just needs to regenerate and get off that treadmill we call life.
I would like to extend a special thank you to our own Pastor Eric who visited my mom at
West Park Long Term Care. During my visits, my mother generally sleeps and there is little
interaction between us. However, when Eric entered the room and bent towards her, her
face lit up, she started jibber jabbing something and then her arms went up to give him a
big hug. I have not seen her so animated in a long time. She continued to “talk” to us and
Eric even asked if she was talking in another language. I had to tell him that no, she is just
gabbing away and only she can comprehend what it all means, but she was happy and that
was worth gold.
I will be back with the Weekly News on the 19 th . See you then.
Guest Organist/Pianist Coming Soon
On Sunday, August 23 we will be welcoming a guest substitute accompanist to our Sunday worship service.
Hazel Ogilvie will be taking over Kento’s duties for this one Sunday. Hazel comes to us with a lot of experience and is a graduate of the University of Toronto. I for one, am looking forward to meeting her and having her lead the musical portions of our service.
