Won Hwang has served as a pastor for 23 years, ministering to toddlers, children, youth, and adults with words and sacraments, pastoral care, and discipleship programming. He is passionate about teaching the Bible with biblical, creative, and fun programs. This passion led him to pursue biblical studies through Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, and the doctoral programs. He published Raffle Nextgen’s Bible Learning series on Nehemiah and the 10 commandments. Ordained in 2006 by the Presbyterian Church in Korea, he has recently been admitted to serve in the Presbyterian Church in Canada. While providing pulpit supply, he is prayerfully seeking a pastoral call to continue his ministry of teaching and shepherding God’s people.
His sermon title that day was “My Best Life Experience”, in which he spoke about how we can shape our lives to respond to the word of God by following the example of Jesus. He used an interesting analogy – a tuning fork and a dinner fork, where the tuning fork responds to a tap by vibrating and “humming”, but the dinner fork does not. Although I had to listen carefully to catch every word, I enjoyed his sermon and would be glad to welcome him back.
