Download the PDF here Apr. 30, 2025The Second Sunday after Easter, also known as Divine Mercy Sunday in the Roman Rite, is a day of celebration and reflection within the broader context of Easter. It’s the concluding day of the Easter Octave, marking the end of the eight-day period celebrating Jesus’ resurrection. While not a central focus for all Christian denominations, it is a time to consider the ongoing impact of Easter and the importance of mercy and grace. Here’s a more detailed look…

Minister’s Message
This was my second time returning to Guatemala for a mission trip, with my first being in 2019. Though the destination was the same, the journey felt fresh, stirring, and deeply personal in new ways. One thing that stood out right from the beginning was the rare…

Outreach – Spring 2025
Our Outreach Committee has had a very active Spring, to say the least. Our traditional Pancake Supper, held on March 4th, was attended by over 60 people. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal and a wonderful time of fellowship. Harry Learoyd led a sing-along after dinner, accompanied by Boris Treivus. The St Patrick’s Day luncheon on March 17th was a huge success. The 50 people in attendance were treated to an entertaining presentation by Chef Dave Taylor who showed us…
Hymn Stories: The Church’s One Foundation
Adapted from 101 Hymn Stories – Kenneth W. Osbeck Author – Samuel J. Stone Composer – Samuel S. Wesley 1810-1876 The Church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord, She is His new creation by water and the Word; From heav’n He came and sought her to be His holy bride; With His own blood He bought her, and for her life He died. Presbyterianism Through the Eyes of Lucy Maud Montgomery
few months ago, I was tidying up a bookcase in my home that is dedicated to all the beloved and much-read books of my childhood and youth, books that should have long ago been passed down to my nieces or my grandnieces but that I have never been able to part with. One shelf holds the eight novels that make up the Anne of Green Gables series, authored by Prince Edward Island’s most famous Presbyterian, Lucy Maud Montgomery. A ragged,…

I thought it especially appropriate given the times we live in.) A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife opening a package. “What food might this contain?” wondered the mouse. He was devastated to discover that it was a mousetrap. Retreating to the barnyard, the mouse proclaimed…

I am pleased to share that I have successfully completed my Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology at Outspan medical college, and this achievement would not have been possible without your generous financial assistance. Your support allowed me to focus on my studies without the…
And the Two Shall Become One..
The Story of a Successful Amalgamation of Two Amalgamation is not palliative care. In a time when many churches are struggling to stay alive and when options to close or amalgamate often lead to the inevitable demise of the congregation, it is nice to know that it does not have to be that way. Amalgamation can be highly successful and can breathe new life into a church community that thought there was no hope for its survival. In the Year…
