As I announced in church last Sunday, the Search Team has chosen one of the applicants to become our new Director of Music Ministry. Without a doubt, Boris Treivus outshone all other applicants in both his expertise on the organ as well as his experience in directing choirs. This was not an easy process for the Search Team. Unfortunately, the Search took all summer to conclude. Vacations by both the team and applicants made this a very slow process. But we persevered and found a fitting replacement for our dear, Kento. Boris has over 20 years of experience as church music director. He has conducted choirs as well as playing the organ, the accordion and piano. He plays in jazz bands, an original Argentinian Tango quartet and the Toronto Mandolin Orchestra. For the last 30 years he has played piano for various ballet companies and dance schools. In 2002, he joined the Canadian National Ballet School as an accompanist for professional, associate and adult ballet programs. “Breaking in” a new Director of Music is no easy task. Learning the flow of our worship services will take time and understanding. Learning what music we like to sing and what music we in the choir do not particularly like will also take some time. Rome was not built in a day, so to speak.
As the bible says in Matthew 25: 31 – 40. “I was hungry, and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink., I was a stranger, and you welcomed me.
So, Graceview, as we enter this new relationship, let us show how wonderful we at Graceview are at welcoming strangers into our church family.
Many, many thanks to our Search Team: Kathy, Norma, Janet, Lynne, Eric, and Susan.

A big thank you foes out to Helen C. for donating her desk to the church so that we can set up an office space for Boris. Thank you also to Dave T. and Earl N. for picking up the desk, dismantling it and then transporting it to the church and reassembling it. This all happened within the span of 48 hours. We do work fast, here at Graceview.
God’s Love is Great
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! That is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. – 1 John 3:1
God’s love is great and understanding. Nothing you do, think or say can make Him love you any less. When you feel discouraged or heartsick over something you have done, turn to Him and ask for His healing forgiveness.
Lord, I am ready to receive Your mercy and grace. Thank You for seeing me, hearing me and loving me.

WEEKLY GIGGLE
A little boy was waiting for his mother to come out of the grocery store.
As he waited, he was approached by a man who asked, “Son, can you tell me where the post office is?”
The little boy replied, “Sure, just go straight down the street a couple of blocks and turn to your right.”
The man thanked the boy kindly and said, “I’m the new pastor in town, and I’d like for you to come to church on Sunday. I’ll show you how to get to Heaven.”
The little boy replied with a chuckle, “Awww, come on; you don’t even know the way to the post office!”
